Englitina is a versatile application designed to emulate the sound and layout of an authentic English Treble Concertina on the iPad.

The button configuration mirrors that of a traditional 48-button acoustic instrument, facilitating an intuitive playing experience for those familiar with the instrument's layout.

This app offers a practical solution for individuals interested in exploring the English Concertina without the financial investment required for a physical instrument. It provides an effective means to familiarize oneself with the button arrangement and basic playing techniques.

Experienced players will find themselves able to produce melodies promptly, leveraging their existing knowledge of the instrument's structure.

Important: For optimal performance, particularly when playing chords with four or more fingers simultaneously, it is recommended to disable "Multitasking Gestures" on your iPad. This setting can be found in the Settings app under General, where the Multitasking Gestures switch should be turned off.

To play, position your iPad on your lap and press the buttons accordingly. The scale patterns of an English Concertina typically alternate between the left and right sides of the instrument.

The app allows multiple buttons to be pressed simultaneously to form chords, enhancing its functionality for more complex arrangements.

• Tap '?' in the upper right corner to toggle note labels on or off.
• Tap 'i' to access settings, where you can transpose the pitch up or down by up to one octave in semitone steps.
• Click the number next to the transpose slider to reset transposition to zero.

It is important to note that when transposing, only the pitch changes; note labels remain static. All user preferences and settings are preserved upon exiting the app.
